Originally scheduled for the Ouse at Newton Blossomville, the latest club match was moved just down the road to Olney as overgrown bankside vegetation meant a lot of work would have been required to clear pegs and make access to the bank safe.
The match was held in the deeper sections of the Ouse at Olney just down from the rugby club in sections from Doffs to Crouches.
There were 20 anglers who fished the match and with the river lower than normal and in need of some colour this meant that throughout the sections not many Roach and Dace were caught.
First on the day with 9 pounds 8 ounces of mainly Perch was Rob Pottinger, 2nd with 9 pounds 1 ounce and again mainly Perch was John Balhatchet and 3rd with a few Skimmers and small fish for 6 pounds 7 ounces was Mick Goodridge.
Section winners were Pete Laughton 5 pounds 10 ounces, Tosh Saunders 5 pounds 15 ounces and Dave Gibbins 3 pounds 15 ounces
Brian Ayliff drew the ‘Golden Peg’ but this now rolls on to the next club match which is on the River Nene at Billing Aquadrome.
