Sunday’s club match was held on Stoke Bruerne pounds and was fished by 26 on a relatively mild day after most of the week’s severe frosts. So after the recent ice melt bites were expected to be few and far between. Considering this the canal fished very well with 15 weights over 3 pounds. 1st on the day with a catch of 21 pounds 1 ounce was David Rose on peg 5 in the Long Pound with mainly Skimmers to 1 and half pounds , 2nd Brian Ayliff on peg 1 long pound with 12 pounds 14 ounces of Skimmers and Bream, 3rd Les Goodridge on peg 4 long pound with 10 pounds 3 ounces and 4th Simon Cordingley with 7 pounds 9 ounces.
Sections were won by Andy Kimpton 4 pounds 14 ounces, John Broughton 4 pounds 10 ounces and Kevin Nightingale 7 pounds 5 ounces
